Danvers + Hartshorn Architecture draws its name from the two Grandmothers of our director.

It is a legacy of two remarkable women, each representing a spirit of dedication and community engagement.

Danvers celebrates an inspiring teenage mother who overcame significant challenges to become a prominent role model within her community. Danvers empowers others in her work with young people, helping the elderly to navigate technology, and spreading joy through dance.

Hartshorn pays homage to a joyous chef, bar lady and mother who, alongside her husband, ran a successful hotel where her culinary talents and unwavering work ethic created a welcoming environment for guests.

Architecture identifies what we do.

Together, these names embody the values of perseverance, creativity, and community service that have helped form the foundation of our architectural practice.

Our director.

Jez is a fully qualified Architect and Director of Danvers & Hartshorn Architecture.

Before setting up our practice, Jez worked for various Architecture Studios and completed courses in Architecture and Construction.

His experience ranges from working on high end residential projects including new build homes, large extensions and complete renovations to working on large public and private sector projects, such as the Castle Bailey Quad for St Peters College in Oxford.

Jez also has experience internationally. He lived in Madrid and worked in a Spanish speaking studio on high end retail projects.

During his studies, Jez was involved with a masterplan for the Isle of Wight and the regeneration of Newcastle and how the city could respond to disaster scenarios. He also researched and investigated flood resilient architecture and landscapes that could positively change the flooding experience for communities in the UK.

Alongside his role in practice he has and continues to enjoy his role as a swimming instructor to adults and children of all ages in Hampshire.
